Getting Power meter in System Tray on a locked-down profile
Can anyone help me with this puzzler?
We have a set of laptops running XP Pro through Viglen Classlink. The problem I'm having is working out how to get the power meter to display on the pupil profiles - the batteries are getting a bit dodgy and we need to be able to keep an eye on power levels all the time.
Although it's Viglen, from what I can work out it's largely just a pretty interface to the standard AD setup, so I'm hoping someone can point in the right direction.
I'm guessing it's in GP somewhere, but not too sure where.
Cheers :)

There are no GPO settings to control any of the power management settings of XP. A major oversight by Microsoft I'm afraid.

What happens when you set it as admin. Does it disppear when viewed in a locked down account?

Is the whole system tray hidden?

May be a decent alternative if the native one refuses to behave...
