Windows cannot find the local profile...
Hi guys and gals,
I'm sure that this is a common error and I have searched both on here and Google and I still can't get a straight answer!
All of our instructors here have Roaming Profiles. All of a sudden this morning one of the instructors complained that his profile wouldn't load. When I went to see 'exactly' what the error message was it came up with:
Windows cannot copy file \\Server Name\profile\Profile Name\Desktop to location C:\Documents and Settings\Profile Name\Desktop. Possible causes of this error include network problems or insufficient security rights. If this problem persists, contact your network administrator.
A second dialogue box then appears stating:
Windows cannot find the local profile and is logging you on with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off.
I have pingged the server from the client PC and all is fine there. I have asked the instructor to try and log on with a different client PC, still the same result.
Apart from deleting his profile and starting again...Does anybody know a fix for this?
