Some students have made a video in movie maker in Vista, but at school we only have XP.
Is there a compatibility pack or do I just convert the file into an AVI format? What if they want to use it in school.

Anyone?

I had a look around a while back and couldn't find a converter to go back to an XP compatible format. I ended up telling the students to finalise the video in vista and bring it in as a WMV
Not sure if this one will do it but we use it alot and it seems to convert most formats

I've searched high and low for this but the answer i get off almost every website is that this is not possible.
Thanks M$!
It’s not possible to go back from a vista moviemaker file to XP although Vista moviemaker will open an XP file (once its saved in Vista it won't go back even if it started as an XP file). There are two solutions
1, is to get them to finalise the project as a WMV which isn't a bad thing otherwise they'll probably forget to save the clips anyway or the links won't match for example they save it on a memory stick its likely to grab a different drive letter etc.
2, get them to install XP's moviemaker on their Vista machines and use that instead.
Hope this helps, Rich
Unfortunitly its not possible to go backwards or indeed forwards..
