Laptop won't shutdown
One of our teachers has a Toshiba Equium that she inherited from her previous school. It has XP Home. It won't shutdown or logoff and system restore doesn't run. She says this is since the last update. I've run CCleaner and I'm doing a virus scan at present. The HT has said that as she doesn't have a school laptop, I can put XP Pro on but has anyone come up against this and know a fix?
had a similar problem with my mum's desktop had to run a windows repair from a installation disk to fix it unfortunately then need prod key to activate it. complete pain (brain not functioning this morning lack of coffee)
Thanks, I figured I would have a problem as she doesn't have the disk or key. Any idea what caused it?
not sure about what caused it but does it have a recovery partition on there you can use to restore the defaults ?
