Setting up ISA 2004 quick help guide please.
Our ISA server 2000 box died today. I know before you all tell me i should have replaced it ages ago but its one of them jobs i have kept putting off. To be honest all the box did was block sites, caching and also do monitoring of usage. I know 2004 is more advanced but for the time being i would like to get it up and running as soon as poss as i intended taking a couple of weeks off if i can.
Can anyone give a few quick set up tips to get me up and running quick with out having to trawl through Shinders ISA 2004 book.
Please...........think of my holiday time............ :-)
Re: Setting up ISA 2004 quick help guide please.
The best resource is http://www.isaserver.org/ - GENIUS!
To quickly get you up and running though...
* Install Windows Server and configure your two NICs (one on your internal LAN and one on the external connection - rename these to Internal and External!).
* Install ISA Server and go to the configuration section where you can click on a picture that best describes your situation (prob Edge Firewall)
* In the Web Chaining tab edit the default rule so that it redirects requests to your upstream server (if applicable)
To help get you up and running with your block lists, there is a script somewhere on the net that will import Squidguard lists... can't just find it at the moment though.
