EEE PC windows don't fit
First off, thanks for the awesome EE PC from the raffle. I love this thing and finished getting security, etc set up on it. :D
Now, the small problem. Is it me or on the Windows XP install of the EEE PC 701SD, have they supplied a screen that is too small for Windows XP to actually run? As an example, I am now running the EEE PC with a 800x600 resolution requiring me to scroll the desktop down to see the taskbar and system tray. In it's native 800x480 (or there abouts) resolution, even with the taskbar hidden I get system windows such as My Computer being too tall for the screen and the bottom vanishes off the screen. Also, it pops up a message that the screen resolution is too low for Windows to work correctly unless I use 800x600.
Is there any way to shrink the size of the windows and fit everything on? I tried messing with title bar button size but made the system tray too tiny to be useful so had to put it back.:p
Which one did you get ?
Eee PC 901 has a resolution of 1024 x 600 and the 701 is 800 x 480
i'm guessing it is the later model..
Hmm, i dont think there is away... after doing some googling people end up using the AltMove alot on the 701.
Cant you increase the res in Display Properties?
I have, hence why it slides around the screen to have to see the taskbar. Guess I'll have to get used to it. Bad Asus giving small screens!
I cant remember the name for this setting as i never need it.
Go into the display properties where you set your resolution, then click advanced. In the is there a setting to change something to small or extra small? try them
I think that is the DPI option, but it is greyed out.
