- 2003R2 Install

Hi,

I'm trying to install Windows 2003R2 onto a server which has an LSI 20160 SCSI controller fitted. Unfortunately I cannot find the disks that go with the box and so even though I have downloaded the driver from the LSi website I cannot get Windows to recognise it when installing from floppy.

I press F6 to install additional drivers - but it doesn't work. I tried one and it installed but wouldn't recognise the drives.

I downloaded from here: LSI20160 : SCSI HBAs : Host Bus Adapters : Products : Storage : LSI

Any advice of files welcome,

Ah now you want the help of the 'techies' ;)

You have only SCSI disks attached, no SATA? Have you tried the Windows NT 4 & Windows 2000 driver?

And why is that a problem? It is why I am here. I've never criticised the technicians - so if you are referring to my other post then keep it in that post.

That's some attitude you have there, you started this playful 'banter' you know. Please don't tell me what/where to post. I was not having a go at you and i did give you advice.

All done now. Didn't need technician support. Sorry to have ruffled your feathers.

If you read my comments in the other posts I openly admitted to being human and getting annoyed.

I didn't start any "playful banter". I responded to another thread with my point of view. It was in the FFS forum so let's keep it there.

So - my apologies if you thought I had attitude - such is the nature if typing instead of speaking face to face. :-)

I'm glad you responded - if people do not point out the errors then sometimes we become blind as we make them (did that make sense).

I fully agree with your behaviour comment.

I didn't think I was aggressive when I fired off my reply. Which interestingly enough was the wrong thing to do. It raises something else - read the post!!! I didn't read your post properly and as such missed the second part. Again I apologise for that.

I'm going to shut up now - but it's a good discussion for others to follow (including us) and realise that typed text can sometimes be interpreted wrongly - especially if we do not read the full text.

Thanks for looking into the problem. As it happens I was downloading totally the wrong drivers. The SCSI card was being used for the AIT4 tape drive. The 5 drives are actually SAN drives connected to the Intel motherboard. Once I had the correct drivers for that R2 installed without any issues. Doh me. :getmecoat:
