DFS killed local shares . Some help please
I've hit a small hiccup in that some shares have been superceded by a lesser known "feature" of Windows networking.
Up until recently we had a single server which was setup with all the software for the network with shares foo, foodata, etc...
... so in the process of moving things slowly over and deciding to take (at the time) advantage of DFS I thought I'd create a DFS root with name foo.
Unfortunately what I didn't know was that this means that //server/foo ends up disappearing in favour of the //domain/foo.
I've since realised that the whole DFS idea is a bad one anyway and I'm now trying to recover the old shares but keep hitting a brick wall... Can anyone help on how to get the share to be recognised as //server/foo again.
