Our users all use the same startmenus which are set by a redirect to a directory on our server. We can set different machines to have different startmenus, but mostly everyone has the same redirect.
This means that all programs are listed in the startmenu - even the ones that are not installed. Of course these are represented by a white box.
On our old CC3 network, there was an application that deleted these (or hid them).
I wonder if anyone has a script that does this - or something similar.

You could make your redirected menus so that you can still see all users. Then only put the shortcuts that need to be in the directed folder. For example Word 2003 would live in the all users instead of the redirected folder.
You can delete shortcuts using this as a start up script
