At Logon...Error! :(
Got an issue thats been bothering me for ages!
Whenever a student logs on (so got to be in the students group policy setting) they get a an error saying "this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on this computer, contact sys admin"
No obvious errors on the eventlog but its buggin me! Please help!
Do you have any programs running on logon? Dos it do it on different types of computers with separate images?
No, its definetly a group policy issue, nothing runin' at startup and is the same on every and any computer on the network! :S

It does sound like something that is being blocked. What scripts if any do you have running?
I agree with previous comments. It'll be something in your logon script which is creating the error (more than likely).
MSN Messenger ?
we used to have that but that was due to the fact that msn messenger or something of the likes was starting up when a user logged in and was disabled via GPO hence the error message just as an example - maybe something you can look into ?
Yep. Used to see that too when a program is "not allowed" to run via policies applied via GP.
Take a look in Event Viewer on the machine. Would expect it to say more there, or look in the registry under Run section for that user and local machine and see whats firing up.
