Hello all
Is there a group policy that stops a domain user on a server 03 domain logging on with the same user name on more than one machine at the same time.
No, AFAIK
There is a MS tool called LimitLogon that can accomplish it, but I havent used it personally
Really, is there not a setting on the server or in active directory so that it will only allow a username to log on once? That seems crazy:confused:
It's one thing Microsoft haven't included for whatever reason. I did take a look at Limitlogon, but from what I remember it was a ballache to setup.
At one site I use Userlock which is very easy to use and easy to deploy. It comes at a price though!
I agree with you that limitlogin is a pain to set up, i cant get it to work yet
Impero has the ability to do what you're asking. If your budget will stretch to it, it's a very useful bit of software.
Limitlogon works fine for us - but yes - #i was shocked that there wasn't an in built way to stop multiple logins.
Yeah I'm still amazed AD can't do it (Netware used to be able to do it way back when I used to use 3.12 lol).
I do have a script that logs in a database the username, computer name and time someone logs in, plus on logout it updates the database, so I might look into adding the functionality to limit users to one login - or I might just use limitlogin
