hi guys my tabs in ie7 have for no reason stopped working. when i click on the tab to open one it just gets stuck on connecting and nothing happens. i cant close it down either unless i go through task manager any ideas please??

Have you set it so it will go to the homepage when you open a tab?
that option wasnt ticked but when i did tick it, it worked once then done the usual crashing again?Quote:

do you mean disabling them if so how as there are loads of sites when open the manage add ons optonsQuote:

Run it without add-ons you can find it here:
Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools> Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)
Start with the obvious:
Tools > Options
Choose Delete (on the General tab) and Delete Temporary files and Cookies
Then, choose Settings (also on the General tab)
Uncheck "Open Home Page for new tabs..."
This should ensure that it isn't trying to open any webpage for a new tab.
Once you get the new tab, you can then try typing news.bbc.co.uk or whatever in the URL box to see if you can open it.
If you can, try checking the Home Page Setting again.
that seems to be ok now but running ie without add ons is that going to cause problems??Quote:

Now run IE 7 normally disable one add-on at a time until you find the problem add-on.

right ok found out which one it was the windows live toolbar add on. shall i just leave it disabled will it cause a problem somewhere with messenger or could there be a fix update?? come to think about it i dont really need the toolbar do i?
It will be fine disabled. Better still uninstall it.
