Finally a real tip to speed up Outlook 2007!

Following these steps:

1. Open Outlook as an Administrator by going to C:Programs/Microsoft Office/Office12 and right clicking on the Outlook exe program. Choose “Run as Administrator”.

2. Then once Outlook opens, go to Tools, then Trust Center, then Addins.

3. Click “Go…” at the bottom and uncheck Outlookaddins.

4. To maximize speed, they recommended to uncheck everything EXCEPT Windows Indexing, which, according to them, is the only useful addin anyway.

When I did this, the speed of my Outlook 2007 improved significantly; although, we will all have to wait for Microsoft to release the update that fixes this issue completely. I hope this helped you.

We have done this and it realy works. ( we also got rid of the Windows Indexing ) Heck of a lot quicker.

Although you might want to be careful not to uncheck add-ins that are essential for virus protection, etc... Avast for example, has an add-in that shouldn't be unchecked...

Must admit mines not really any slower at home than it was on 2003, but my exchange box at work on 2007 was a bit slow at times, will give it a go at work though:)

I don't notice a speed issue.

Thanks! Mine wasnt amazingly slow, but there was a second or so lag when opening emails. Gone now :D

Wow great tip! Outlook 2007 is the only bit of 2007 I don't like. Its so bloated and takes ages to load. Doesn't even have the new interface for some reason.

Like the above poster this has made opening emails much quicker so thanks.
