Where are they getting this from?
The quick launch icons (next to the start bar)....
We had an issue with a link to internal email pointing to it in the wrong way, this was fixed in the desktop and start menu links to it, but some staff are using quick launch icons to access the email system, these links still have the old and incorrect path, but i cant find where on earth PCs are getting them from
is there a GPO to force quick launch icons not to appear (couldnt find one) or a way to change whats in there without going to each pc? cheers
Re: Where are they getting this from?
Lock the task bar. That will stop them adding them.
Re: Where are they getting this from?
cheers for the quick reply, that stops them adding them but how about making it disapear now its there/editing it?
Re: Where are they getting this from?
You can use regedit to disable the quicklaunch bar.
Find HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer\ClassicShell and set it's value to "0"
hope that's useful!

Re: Where are they getting this from?
Quick launch icons are stored in C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
