Flash embedded in Excel

Hi all,

We currently have an e-mail circulating among our students which contains several excel spreadsheets. These are flash games that someone has embedded into a .xls file.

Is there any way to prevent the office applications from supporting flash? I can't see any real use for such a feature! We are using Office 2003 and I have the Office ADM files installed, however there are so many settings that finding the one you want isn't always easy!

Anyone else had this problem and managed to stop it?

I would also like to know about this, at the moment, we are mas purging with securus and batch files, but this method would be nice

Hi there, I am currently having the same problem.

With a bit of digging I found this on this site which says you can do it but not how. I also found this on Microsoft's website which says how to disable ActiveX's as a whole which in my one quicj test seemed to work (though is dependent on you having Office 2007).

I am still looking for a solution to specifically just disable flash in excel and was wondering if anyoine else had any ideas.

I aslo saw the idea of setting the security on the flash files however this disables flash in everything!
