Proxy settings keep being applied
Our Local Education Authority has recently changed our proxy server to be transparent. As a result, any machines we have around the school which have proxy settings in place cannot access the internet. Problem is, our group policy has an enforced restriction on users changing proxy settings (some of our kids are too clever by half!). We can change the following keys in the registry:
However, there seems to be some kind of hangover registry setting which applies the proxy settings when the user logs in. We can find this key in
HKEY_USERS\%SID%\*same key as above.
Logged in as local admin, I've amended the Default user NTUSER.DAT file to take out the relevant registry entries, I've even amended the NTUSER.DAT file in the specific user profile, but it still manages to find the keys and apply them when the user logs in. Gibbering wreck on the horizon. Any ideas?
