    More Problems since changind domainadministrator password.

    We have to change the domain\administrator password for security reasons. We rarely used the account but it did do some things.

    I am getting lots of errors in event viewer now. One which is an earlier post which is NTDS replication settings.But i am also getting Failure Audits

    Event ID 675 Pre-authentication failed:
    User Name: Administrator
    User ID: domain-name\Administrator
    Service Name: krbtgt/domain-name
    Pre-Authentication Type: 0x2
    Failure Code: 0x18

    Also

    Event ID 1083&1955

    Active Directory could not update the following object with changes received from the domain controller at the following network address because Active Directory was busy processing information.

    Object:
    CN=Administrator,DC=SCH,DC=UK

    All this happened since the domain\administrator password has changed. I have googled with out much success.

    Wow - you're not having much luck are you? What happens when you change back the administrator password?

    Re: More Problems since changind domainadministrator password.

    Could you have any services running under the administrator account? For other accounts that will cause account lockout if you change the password but the service tries to use the old password; for domain admin, you can never lock out but you may get weird effects.

    The Kerberos error you're seeing is mentioned at http://www.windowsecurity.com/articl...on-Events.html and it seems to suggest that this is a "bad password" error
