Yes for every server you need a client licence. Hence why it wont let u backup over mapped shares
I think when we bougbht it, it came with the software licence and then one client licence...
The client licences are cheap for schools

LOL as you can see i'm new to the backup processes i was just tasked to re amp our system so now i'm in pretty hard. we got a blade server going to be hooked up to our tera station and then the server backup the tera station on our adic tape backup. do you do a lot of back ups?

Symantec 11d vs 12 and Terastation NAS
I'm currently using a product from HP - Data Protector Express - that came with my Ultrium drive. It won't backup to a NAS, so I'm looking at Symantec's stuff. Couldn't find any compatibility docs re the Terastation from Symantec. I've read in earlier version of BU Exec you could create "user-defined shares" with a unc path. I'm encouraged to see at least someone is having luck with it. Any updates on success or satisfaction with how it works?
