Group Policy within active directory
Hi, i've recently completed an NT to server 2003 upgrade and i'm encountering trouble with Active directory, and in particular, group policy. Initially the problem was that I didn't have the group policy tab in the properties menu, but through luck more than judgement, that has now appeared. However, I cannot see any objects in the group policies I create and administrative templates isn't even there. Just to be clear, by no objects, I mean if I open windows settings under either user or computer config, I see nothing, not one object.
Obviously this is a fairly big problem as I desperately need to set my group policies, please help!
Thanks

I'd start by grabbing a copy of GPMC from the microsoft site - which is a better way of managing your GPOs.

Re: Group Policy within active directory
I have, and thats how I got the tab to appear, after then uninstalling gpmc. But even in gpmc, there are no objects, i'm pretty much struggling with this, if anyone even knows of any support or such thing that you can get, or even speak to someone about this, then that would be just as helpful

Re: Group Policy within active directory
I am not to sure how familiar with Active Directory you are so I am just going to cover some basics here. When you open Active Directory Users and Computers, any computers that you have joined to the domain, will be listed under computers and you will have to make Org. Units and drag the computers into them. After typing all this, I might have misunderstand your question. Do you remember the error you got when you installed Windows 2003 admin pack?
