    demoting a DC

    right... some of you may of seen i was ridding one of our servers of its dhcp responsibilities yesterday, today im going to demote it although it will still continue to be a terminal server (for a week or so)

    can anyone see any problems with this?

    It should be fine.

    If you want you could unplug the network cable and see if anyone complains that something isnt working, then if you've missed something its just a case of plugging the cable back in rather than promoting it back up etc

    arnt you off migweb?!

    anyways, well i will have to do it tonight as the TC is in use during the day only 5 users which i cant seem to get off sh1trix

    so a member server will be ok running tc?

    You may have an issue with Terminal Server licensing if it's running on that server. You may have to point the server at itself, and also point your other TS at it too.

    cool i aint been brave enough yet to do the change. The licensing is held on another server (thankfully)

    i think i will be doign this tonight
