Suggestions for Basic Windows Video Editing package similar to iMovie

I have used most versions of iMovie and find it (not supprisingly) better than Microsofts free offerings.

Anyone know of any Windows based Video packages like iMovie, i.e. not too complex but able to get semi-decent results for school projects and suitable for school years 5 to 8.

Can I just add, we use Sony Vegas and while ok, not too happy with the application.

    Thanks in anticipation of answers.

Windows Live Movie Maker does a pretty decent job, you can get the older Windows Movie Maker too if needed.

Serif may be another option, they use Sony Vegas at the moment but it is quite an old version, I'm not really that impressed with Sony Media software, acid etc.
