When users click Start > Shutdown the default option in the drop-down menu is 'Restart' so suite is turned off and proceeds to turn itself back on!
Have applied the policy: User Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Start Menu and Taskbar > Change Start Menu Power Button but it has zero affect.
Staff and students, staff are on roaming and kids are mandatory.
Admin account is fine.
Going mad trying to find the solution! Little help?

Reason: Typed 'Computer' rather than 'User' - don't know which I prefer anymore...

27th January 2012, 05:56 PM #2 Yes, we have that! Did ask on here ages ago but never found an answer. Installed iTalc since and just shut everything down with that but would love to sort it out.

Wish that policy worked!

30th January 2012, 11:32 AM #4 It'll probably be to do with the mandatory profile. If you change the profile, does this work?
Windows 7 does allowing the controlling of Power Schemes via GPO. It's definitely a big plus over XP in my experience.
