Print server question
I have a print server with windows 2003 server installed. if i setup a new network printer that will be used by windows 7 clients, do I use the windows 7 driver on HP's website or the windows 2003 server version? To start with I think I must use the windows 7 driver but then I think what is the windows 2003 server version for?

24th January 2012, 08:51 AM #2 You do not say what 'flavour' of Windows 7 clients you have [32 bit or 64 bit]
We have two print servers: Windows Server 2003: 32 bit and Windows Server 2008: 64 bit.
We allocate our printers to our clients using Group Policy. We have found that some HP printers will work with the HP driver [HP 1320, HP 2055] while others, we have found will only work with the Universal HP driver [HP 2015n, HP P4015]
If you intend staying with Server 2003 32 bit for your print server and you have 64 bit Windows 7 clients you can add 64 bit printer drivers to your server using Print Management.

All our HP printers are run from a 2003 server with windows 7 clients.
