    Profile issue

i have got one member of staff who is having problems with her profile.

They have roaming profiles. At first i thought it was maybe a corruption thing so i renamed her profile folder thinking that it would recreate it when she logged on next.

She's just been back with the problem. She gets a local desktop, an error saying that it couldnt find her network profile so loading a local. I checked in Event Viewer, it complains of Offline caching being on, which ive checked and cant see.

It didnt recreate her profile either. I've compared her account to others and cant see any difference.

    Any ideas?

when you renamed the old profile, did you also delete the local copy of her profile on her machine?

yes. you dont need to delete her local profile from every machine in the school but only the one she will log into for the first time after you rename her server profile. Then when she logs in, a new profile will be created for her.

You can also use something like delprof2 on the machines to help rid the machines of old local profiles that can cause issues.

So delete her roaming profile completely.

Delete her local copy of the profile from a machine.

Get her to log on / log off / log on again and a new profile will be created from the default and copied to the server as her roaming profile.

Jus a thought, have you tried on the local machine where she logs onto for the first time going into the registry and deleting her from the ProfileList, maybe this would force/recreate one on the local machine then hopefully upload to the roaming profile folder correctly.

I have had an issue before when just renaming the folder that the user keeps getting Temp profile. We use local profiles here.
