USB Stick causing blue screen
When we plug a USB stick into any PC on own network the PC Blue screens and then reboots
This is happening with the Dell Laptops, and the custom build PC's
All the sticks are different brands and all the desktops run Windows XP Pro.
Has anyone seen anything like this before?
Thanks

What service pack are you running on the PC's?? Is it a XP CD you slip streamed yourself or legit MS one??

Re: USB Stick causing blue screen
They are all OEM licences stuck on the side of the PC's. As far as I know the PC's haven't been re-installed since they were bought with the OS pre-loaded.
All the PC's are running SP2
Thanks

Ahh ok that rules out a dodgy slip streamed CD you msay of made, try re-installing the OS with a new copy!! Do you use WSUS? Maybe a dodge update??

Re: USB Stick causing blue screen
We don't use WSUS, I'll re-install one of the PC's and let you know what happens
Thanks

I had this problem with one type of machine that we had custom made and after sending one back to the manufacturer they found that it was a faulty motherboard, but if its all your machines then it is a mystery. :?:

Re: USB Stick causing blue screen
Have you checked event viewer? seems to me it could be a mass storage driver problem
