I have a vb script that sends an automated email with text of your choice. I have tested this and it works well on our domain. I am wondering if some how I can use this to send me an email when the spooler services stops on our print server. I have the recovery options set so that all 3 options ‘restart the service’ if it fails but sometimes this does not always work. Hence why i thought of some how using this script to inform me when the service stops.
Does anyone know how I can use this or any other options I could use?
Use the run a program option?
This could try and restart it as well as running your vbs?

Or set the first 2 to restart and subsequent failures to run your vbs.

I know this will be off topic, ever so slightly - but would not running Nagios on a vm somewhere not provide a robust system for you? You can monitor and be messaged easily via that.
