I have a server (good spec) that is used for back ups. Trouble is that when rebooted it takes an age to boot up. It tends to be the part where it applies network and computer settings before it gets to the log on box. It just goes on and on and on.
I have check DNS and all is correct, i have given a static IP, a reserved IP and also a DHCP IP and it makes no difference. I have check the event log and again nothing
Any suggestions?

Re: Back Up server taking an age to boot up.
Are there any external devices connected to this server? Whats the setup of it? Is it using Raid, firewire, Sata etc..?

Is it part of the domain i.e a member server or a DC or is it just standalone,
which dns server is it reserved on? does it have any other functions besides backup?
How long does it take approx to boot up? and have you ran some pre boot software (i.e Bootvis or similar) to log whats going on?
