8th September 2011, 11:58 AM #1 Samsung Printer Status - "The Port is Not Connected. Check it" - Anyone seen this?
We have 2 x Samsung ML-3310 printers on the network.
Both are added to the print server and shared. When anyone prints to either of them they both get the error popup from the status monitor.
"The Port is not connected. Check it" (See attached screenshot)
Has anyone come across this and solved it maybe
The printer still prints the jobs after a small delay?
Thanks in advanceSamsung Print Client.jpg

It does this also when I try to print from our print server, so I don't think its the client. Our print server is a 2008 virtual server. Yes very annoying!!

3rd January 2012, 01:46 PM #6 The company that is supplying our printers is speaking to Samsung about it.. Hopefully they might provide a solution or a driver without the annoying popup.

4th January 2012, 09:55 AM #7 we've got this too, and it is very annoying, not to mention off puting for the students. samsung are useless and can only offer to replace printers. The problem also seems to be intermittent, and seems related to the length of time taken to print. for example, a printer connected via usb to a machine and shared, prints very quickly with no error, a printer installed via ethernet on a server based print queue seems to take longer and gives the error. we are using eset, and the error seems unrelated.

5th January 2012, 03:12 PM #8 Removed Sophos from the client and the print server. This still happens, so thats sophos/antivirus ruled out.
We get it 100% of the time.
If we could just get rid of the pop up completely I would be happy.

5th January 2012, 03:20 PM #9 You are using standard TCP/IP ports? I had an issue like this with the HP "Auto-configure" on the HP Universal Print Drivers as we had pCounter (when the connection is tested by the HP software, it was going to the pCounter port, not the IP address / TCP/IP port.

Do you think this is a papercut issue?
There is an awesome offer on with these printers on ebuyer at the moment, £129 delivered with £80 cashback...

12th January 2012, 09:23 AM #12 Samsung have modified the print driver to remove the pop up. If testing with it goes well then we should be getting it on our network soon

12th January 2012, 11:29 AM #15 I will do once we get it in school. We have a print contract so they are currently testing it before putting it into use on our network.
We have the ML-3710ND printers.. not sure if it will be the same driver?
