Just wondering if any one has any updates for ProDesktop 8?
Just converting it to a virtual package, thought might as well try to get any updates for it.
Will ask one of the technology teachers to go on one of the courses so we get the update version if one of them will go!
We already have the sp1 update
I know there is a sp2 update, dont know if there are any newer patches than that.
Thanks!
EDIT: Ok the sp1 we have will not even install, says we have the wrong version install or something, even this sp1 update was included on the oringinal disc with the oringinal setup!

1st September 2011, 04:18 PM #2 Ok very annoying, even without the update (dont mind making the package again later if anyone has updates I can have)
I have made the package serveral times and everytime I open it up virtually using the app-v 4.6 client, it trys to start up, it comes up with the prodesktop logo, then it closes it self down

2nd September 2011, 12:39 PM #3 One thing, you have to run prodesktop as an admin after install. Stupidly it only creates some of the regkeys needed on first run.
I *think* prodesktop.exe /register is the switch to force it but cant remember exactly.

Yep. I had a chat with one of their staff who kind of just said "Yes we know".
ProEngineer may be the way forward

5th September 2011, 05:31 PM #7 Yer we have Google Sketch up installed to, will have to see if we can get rid of it, infact I think the staff member that done the training has left, so thats means we are not allowed to use it anymore on the licencing terms
So one has to do that course and that means the new version, unless no no longer want it

Take a look at PTC's new Creo. An easy to use ribbon interface, lots of new features including Freestyle modelling for the organic shapes product designers love and Direct modelling which has the same modelling strategy Google Sketchup uses.
Best of all, users can switch between modelling tools without losing any model history and all this, plus training materials and curriculum projects is FREE!
Creo is fully supported on Windows 7 and includes network licensing and installation.
