Netmeeting
It can exit your network but not very well and nobodies really using it so it wouldn't matter anyway.

I've been asked if we could provide a messaging facility between classrooms. The teachers have this idea that it would be nice for the kids to chat between classes. I can see some advantages in being able to send messages but a potential problem with them popping up on the W/B during a lesson. "Miss Smith, your pregnancy test results have arrived!"
Is anyone else doing this?
I setup Spark on the clients with Wildfire on a server - [ which is now Openfire ] - when I can be bothered to move up to Openfire I will.Is anyone else doing this?
Are there are any major differences does anyone know that I should be concerned about ?
I also wrote a simple script which will turn off Spark from clients just in case some of the pupils are using that instead of getting on with their work !!

Is spark and openfire opensource?
