Publisher Printing Issues
Hiya.
Had this problem ever since I can remember. When anyone (staff, students) save a document in Publisher it appears also to save the printer in the room where the document it saved.
When a student changes to a differnt machine in a differnt room it shows the correct printer in the print menu, HOWEVER it prints to the original printer in the room where the document was printed.
Also noticed that even with the CORRECT printer installed for the room a student is in, when you hover over the little printer icon in the toolbar it displays the ORIGINAL printer name.
Any ideas?
(Sorry for the length.)
Using Windows XP SP2
Publisher 2003 (with Office 2003)
Not that it matters printing to HP 4000's
Print server on Windows 2003 R2

If you re open the document change the printer and then save it It should sort this problem out. The reason it does this is due to the format and what publisher does. It is very good at edge of page stuff but it also controls the printer using its own drivers. This is to help whe you do things like banners posters ect as it try to save paper and set the document up to the printers edge of page settings and if you change the printer it needs to change the settings. Yes it is annoying but it is not disgined to be used in multi printer enviroment.
