Parents digitally signing a letter
We've been asked to investigate the possibility that letters on our parent portal (for trips etc) that require signing could be done digitally for parents.
So instead of them downloading and printing the PDF and sending it back to us by post or their child, they view the document online, sign it and send it back digitally.
It needs to be something that is stored centrally, unlike eSignatures from Adobe where you upload a document and it emails it to recipients.
Is this possible and if so, what are the costs and requirements?

Just thinking off the top of my head, but how about Google Docs. Send a form with the letter attached to parents in the introduction section, then the parent fills in their Name, Student name etc on the bottom. This will then update a google spreadsheet with all the information added. The only problem I imagine, is that it will be a manual process to go through the spreadsheet and cross reference with a list of parents, but I don't think it will take that long, if listed alphabetically.

After posting above, I think I might give this a try actually for our AUP forms we send to all parents of our new Year 7's to sign, it will reduce heavily the amount of paper we send. It will be a good test to see if it will work.
