Hi,
After much surfing on the interwebs for an hint or even indication that someone had tried something similar I've decided to post my query here. Ok so here it is...
I need a program very similar to Skype that is capable of sending and receiving video calls as well as voice calls and text; And also is able to send and receive files and that also offers Screen Sharing and Remote Desktop control.
Has anyone heard of anything that can do this?
P.S. I would just use Skype but it does not offer Remote Desktop control as a feature yet.

You could setup a free VIOP system such as Asterisk and use free software based phones.
If your not good with linux this is dead easy to use - AsteriskNOW | Asterisk

Maybe you could not use that? or just use Asterisk for this job only.

All those applications are available separatly - Skype for audio/video, an FTP client for file transfer and RDP/VNC for remote desktop. For an integrated solution, you might look at Skype's API - write something that sticks the three applications together somehow, even if it's simply a case of adding a menu option or two to Skype that says "Transfer file..." and "Open RDP connection...". This sounds pretty simple, so I'm sure someone must have already written it - doesn't Skype have a MarketPlace thing somewhere for its API developers?
Note that having a remote session open to the same desktop as the one you're doing a Sykpe video call to is going to get confusing - you'll see a video of yourself seeing a video of yourself on their remote desktop (or, more likely, the connection will slow to a crawl).
