I think one of the .NET updates has upset some of my machines. I'm now getting "applying computer settings" for about 30 seconds as opposed to five, and this error in the Event Log which I think is the culprit:

.NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Tried to start a service that wasn't the latest version of CLR Optimization service. Will shutdown

Panic over, a few reboots and its back to normal times. The error only appeared on HP DC7x00 machines though.

    I am though...

We have yet to have a decent WSUS, mainly because we have no spare boxes for it except PCs... (I dont like relying on that way).

Anyway, I guess we would be complaining if serious virsus's like the blaster came out again...... at least its this week for patch tuesday and not next week. Meaning I can update 1 Room which is set to manual, update the servers (when I did it all last week and now just doing the last one with a service pack)...

All done and sorted this week
