Scratch is good for making games (and is free) or you can make games using flash

    We're about to get this.

We spend ages trying to stop kids from playing games... and now we're teaching them how to make them.

    Does. Not. Compute.

it isnt to bad, the .exe we dont want the students to use we put into GPO where it stops any .exe we dont want the students to use
    so its not that tight

What about your file servers - we have it so that you can't save .exe on them.

Typically, I'd have it as the reverse of that.

we did have it set like that but recently changed it , when we migrated our servers, but we also have file screening running so if the students try to put any .exe on the system it will block them and send us an email!
but anyways going back to gamemaker thanks for all your ideas i will get back to the teacher and let her know about scratch and kodu - but knowing teachers they like to stick with things they know how to use!

    Thanks

The free version of gamemaker should be good enough for your school anyway.

Ours use the free version. They output to a special network share dedicated for this. This obviously has to be monitored.
