Erm... Going to go out on a limb here and ask "where" this "well documented" upgrade is erm... "well documented"... If I hadn't heard about it on here I'd be finding out the hard way after applying it and breaking stuff.. :?
It's mentioned in the 'What's new in SP2' blurb on the MS website.

Considering they hardly fanfared SP2s' arrival and it was awkward to find for a while it is lucky we even found the download, let alone the main page for it. It may be visible now, but on release day there was little or no info available.

Re: Win 2K3 SP2 Breaks RIS

I think that Microsoft have found in the past that the world goes mad when a new service pack etc is made available and if they make a big fuss about the launch then all the servers collapse under the strain. By not making a big fuss but just quietly releasing it as part of the normal monthly patch cycle it was picked up in smaller quantities (eg as I understand it the BITS process will not only not saturate your connection when downloading but can be told to hold off downloading particular updates until the server is less busy).
The docs were available on the MS website a couple of weeks before the actual SP was available - I'd guess that this is so people have time to read them (what??? You're supposed to RTFM???) before downloading and breaking things :-)

Also remember that they were reeling from the backlash from the DST patches they released.
