System Volume Information
A small number of computers have over the past few months decided to fill up the system volume information folder to the point where there is no room left on the HDD at all. Deleting this data manually is somewhat a pain in the backside. Disabling the System Restore via GPO I discovered should in fact prevent this from happening. On doing so I found that it cleared all the data from one computer straight away without me having to delete it manually, result! However certain machines still refuse to not store data. System Restore is disabled via GPO, I have even tried the machine as a standalone with it switched off. But the folder is still determined to fill up, but only on the odd machine here and there. Everywhere I look to find information to resolve this tells me to turn system restore off, but it is off!!
Am I missing something??

Unsure if this would help but try turning system restore back on and telling it to clear all but the most recent restore snapshots?

Not sure how I've fixed it, but I think I have. Turned it back on, changed the allocated HDD space for data stored to the least amount possible, done a disk clean up and deleted what was left manually. Have looked at the folder today and its completely empty. Hurrah!
