    I'm no expert when it comes to IIS, I have several sites set up and running, but none have needed the same configuration as the Adobe Update Server seems to...

    I'm just using IIS 7.0, and have the files downloading at the moment, but following the instructions, it says "Add module mapping for XML, crl, zip, dmg and sig extensions, and gives an example of XML, but not for the others - how do you know how to configure the others?

    If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd be extremely grateful!

    Unfortunately it doesn't update Adobe reader or Flash Player, just the components of the Creative Suite. Apart from Acrobat. Ugh.

    I've installed it now, but getting errors when trying to update clients...
    The update server is not responding. The server might be offline temporarily, or the Internet of firewall settings may be incorrect. Please try again later. Error Code: U41M1C213

    But then I can't be 100% sure I've configured IIS correctly...

    If anyone's got any ideas, I'd be keen to hear them...

    Necro I know but I'm having trouble getting this running.

    I'm trying to put this on the same machine I have WSUS on so I made a new site in IIS7 rather than trying to use the default site.

    I'm following the instructions in the updater 2.0 Technote pdf that came with it but when I add the httpHandlers IIS starts complaining my web.config is invalid.

    Can any one spot what's wrong or post a working config for comparison?

    EDIT: I figured it out from some web.config examples I found online. <httpHandlers> needs to be under <system.web> which probably doesn't exist in a new site file. Config file below in case anyone needs it.

    Code:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <configuration>
    	<system.web>
    		<httpHandlers>
    			<add path="*.xml" verb="*" type="System.Web.StaticFileHandler" />
    			<add path="*.zip" verb="*" type="System.Web.StaticFileHandler" />
    			<add path="*.crl" verb="*" type="System.Web.StaticFileHandler" />
    		</httpHandlers>
    	</system.web>
        <system.webServer>
    		<handlers>
                <add name="SIGFILTERTEST" path=".sig" verb="*" modules="IsapiModule" scriptProcessor="C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_isapi.dll" resourceType="Unspecified" preCondition="classicMode,runtimeVersionv2.0,bitness32" />
                <add name="DMGFILTERTEST" path=".dmg" verb="*" modules="IsapiModule" scriptProcessor="C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_isapi.dll" resourceType="Unspecified" preCondition="classicMode,runtimeVersionv2.0,bitness32" />
                <add name="CRLFILTERTEST" path=".crl" verb="*" modules="IsapiModule" scriptProcessor="C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_isapi.dll" resourceType="Unspecified" preCondition="classicMode,runtimeVersionv2.0,bitness32" />
                <add name="XMLFILTERTEST" path=".xml" verb="*" modules="IsapiModule" scriptProcessor="C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_isapi.dll" resourceType="Unspecified" preCondition="classicMode,runtimeVersionv2.0,bitness32" />
            </handlers>
        </system.webServer>
    </configuration>
