HI People we have a big problem and its getting worse, here it is.

Its only affected win 2000 machines so far.

We have a number of machines that when logged on to blink the startbar up and then disappear and show no icons just the default blue background and only Ctrl Alt Delete will work and allow task manager in which i can see explorer.exe is not running and when i go to run it the startbar again flashes up and disappears again. Have tried the recovery option with a 2000 cd but thats not helped. Have run a virus scan but it doesn't show anything. We have now tried two different reg fixes from the tech net newsgroups which have not helped.

All machines have the latest virus definitions.
All machines should have the latest windows updates.

Hi People,
have run spybot 1.4 and ad-aware although it found some files it has delt with them and it is still suffering from the problem.
Any other Ideas?

Corrupt default profile?

so how do i fix the default profile?

replace it with a good copy from another machine.
