I've deployed (through GPO) the EZpower management software for my workstations for years as it seemed to do everything I needed,. I've known for a while that Vista and 7 Have settable Powermanagement within a GPO now.
My GPOs all have an uninstall set if the GPO is removed but I was wondering if I apply a WMI filter nowWould that trigger the uninstall? I've never used WMI filtering before I took that code from a thread here, made a new WMI query and applied it the the Installer GPO.Code:\\Select * from Win32_OperatingSystem where Caption = "Microsoft Windows XP Professional"
Well, it does. Adding the ONLY XP WMI to already deployed software via GPO started the uninstall process on the Vista machines.
The GPO was set to uninstall if it was no longer applied, the software however errors during uninstall but that's another problem.
