    Have you tried repairing your installation of Windows?

    Yes but I get the same answer - when you get to MFEHIDK.SYS it stops!

    I guess you could extract the hard disk and manually copy this file from another workstation.

    Try a selective startup (F8 while booting) and see if you can get in to safe mode without loading that file. It's a McAfee driver so chances are the McAfee install has f-ed something up - if you can get in to safe mode that way, uninstall McAfee and try booting again.

    Thanks for your help - I think a best way is the leave the machine overnight and have a look tommorow (or better still a hammer!!!!)

    @ahankiewicz:

    Solved: Windows crashes often with blue screen and restart after that automatically - Tech Support Guy Forums

    Something to do with McAfee (could be a file that is missing from the AV)

    @LosOjos: beat me to it hehe!!

    I had this error last week and tried the McAfee fix with no luck. In the end I re-installed OS.
