    iTunes and Windows 7

My daughter has just got a new laptop and has been sending me skype messages all afternoon. I've sorted out her email but now she says that iTunes is crashing when she tries to copy across her CDs. No error messages.

Any ideas. I've suggested she uninstall iTunes and start again.

Did you install the right version? Most laptops will be 64 bit.

My daughter has iTunes on her 64 bit Win 7 laptop and it's working fine.

Can you get her to install LogMeIn so you can have a poke round yourself?

Good idea. It now seems that she can download iTunes ok, it's just ripping from cds that's the problem. I think there may be an Acer related issue.

    That or team viewer ?

May be worth while re installing relevant drivers ie chipset and see if they have anything for the optical drive, normally they have something to make the optical drive work a bit slower or something to make it a bit more silent ( not as noisey )

Also in the preferences for itunes if you change the format it is ripping to ie AAC instead of MP3 or visa versa or whatever

Also if you can post back with any error(s) from event viewer or error messages that iTunes is giving you ( her ) that may point us in the right direction ??
