Offline files not available at home

Im having issues with the Head's laptop. In school everything seems to be working fine, but when she goes home, she can not access her documents.

Her 'My Docs' folder is redirected to \\srv1\Docs\Staff\%username% and is made available offline and fully sunc'd, but she keeps getting the message:

"You do not have access to the folder //srv1/Docs. See your administrator for access to this folder."

She has XP and the server is running 2008R2

when you setup offline files are you getting access to them using the desktop shortcut? If not i would go there and try that.

Aha! Good point. Because i always go thru the docs folder it never occured to me that she might not be. As it happens, she opens Word, then goes thru File > Open .. which may have different results!
Have told her to try it tonight thru Docs folder and see what happens.
    Will report back tomoroow

If she had her laptop there could you not just have pulled the network cable and/or turned off the wireless to simulate being at home?

    Ongoing ...
Only 4 SMT members have laptops and the other three tell me they have no problem with documents at home, so it must be something on the Head's laptop. Yesterday I tried turning the wireless off and disconnecting the cable to simulate being at home and it all worked fine. Today she informs me she had the same problem again at home last night .. cant access documents!
She has also said it seems to work if the laptop isnt connected to her home network but as soon as she 'connects to the web' she cant access her documents!
    Puzzling!
Are there any disadvantages to resettign offline cache?

As long as there are no offline edits that need to be synced back you can reset the cache with no ill effects.

Just to end the saga ..
I tried resetting the offline cache and it made no difference, so i rebuilt the laptop and now it all works!
Obviously something on the laptop that didn't want it to work, but buggered if i could find it.
    Odd!
