    Benchmarking a server

What do you guys use to benchmark a server? We have an image (jpeg, gif) server cluster whose CPU and memory are far from being maxed out but we aren't so sure on the hard drive and network connection. Any recommendations? They are all Server 2003.

EDIT: Or maybe even a configuration in Server 03 in PerfMon (WAY more used to Server 08's deliciously clean interface)

Sounds like you want to run performance moniter against the performance counters for stuff like disk and network queues for a couple of days. This should give you lots of information about which bits of the system are being stressed.

Helpful guide! It is somewhat similar to 2008 but it's not as pretty. Otherwise, what about a program that will truly max the hell out of the server with a "this is where you're at now, this is the server's max output in these categories." comparison?
