Does anyone know what the licensing agreements are on the smartboard software? Ie, we have 11 smartboards in school, obviously we are licensed to install it on machines that have smartboards connected to them but as teachers move classrooms, not all rooms have smartboards and they are requesting the smartboard installed on machines that dont have smartboards connected to them.
Are we allowed to install the smart product on machines that aren't connected to a smartboard?

This is the licence agreement for the notebook software
http://communications.smarttech.com/...1oUl5YRkzEgS32
It says "smart notebook software may also be used on a reasonable number of computers associated with your school that are not connected to a pen or touch enabled device."
Make what you will of the reasonable part.

13th October 2010, 09:02 AM #4 Put simply - you can install it on any machine in the school so long as it isn't connected to a competing product (unless you pay for a license for each install in this situation).

13th October 2010, 10:43 AM #5 This isn't a problem at all. Your teachers can all upload the software that is on the disks supplied with the boards. As long as it all being used on SMART Boards then there is no problems.

13th October 2010, 03:18 PM #7 I have looked at the license agreement (the one that we all never read) and this is what i have found:
2.2 Grant of License. Smart grants and End User accepts a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to User the Software with SMART product subject to the following limitations:
(a) License Restrictions. For so long as End User owns SMART Product, End User may Use the Software (i) on an unlimited number of computers owned and controlled by End Users; and (ii) if End User has employees, consultants, or students on an unlimited number of computers that may be personally owned by End User's employees, consultants, or students for so long as they continue to be End User's employees, consultants, or students.
