Spiceworks 5.0 Release Candidate Now Available - Get It Now!
After our greatest number of Beta releases ever (8!) to ensure we captured as many bugs and errors as possible, Spiceworks is pleased to provide the Release Candidate software to our dedicated users.
The release candidate is as close to the final version of the software as the public will see in just a few short weeks!
Read instructions and download here: 5.0 Release Candidate Build Now Available (5.0.57574) - Spiceworks Community
To all of you who participated in past Betas, thank you so much for your feedback and support. For those of you anxiously awaiting 5.0, this is your opportunity to get a sneak preview of our biggest and best release ever. And if you have an IT blog you maintain, you can be one of the first to write a review of the software to share with your readers. You can also get frequently-updated alerts about the Spiceworks 5.0 release.
I'll keep you posted when Spiceworks 5.0 officially goes live to the masses. Feel free to send me a PM if you have any questions.

11th October 2010, 02:59 PM #2 I have a quick question (and the answer may be obvious). Is there a category of users in Spiceworks who are not admins, but can be assigned to view their own jobs (e.g. technician or similar who you don't want to be able to get to everything)

User Roles - Helpdesk only
- For now the Helpdesk role can only create and work tickets
Spiceworks 5.0 will bring user roles into Spiceworks allowing you to manage who can access what withing Spiceworks better. Some of the new roles will be ‘help desk admins,’ inventory admins’ or ‘portal admins.’

Spiceworks' customers can say it better and more succinctly than me.
Thanks Edu-IT!
