    Trouble deleting a folder

Got a folder in a pupil area that I want to remove but it just tells me that it cannot read from the source file or disk! It has a space at the end of the folder name (its a sub folder of the childs name). Tried renaming it but no joy and can't delete it. Any Suggestions? I can remane the childs folder just not the specific sub folder.
Just managed to move the whole folder structure to another folder out of the way by dragging it but still can't delete it, so now not an urgent problem but would like to solve it.

The Delete permission allows or denies the user from deleting the file or folder. If you do not have a Delete permission on a file or folder, you can delete the file or folder if you are granted Delete Subfolders and Files permissions on the parent folder.

http://ss64.com/nt/del.html not know if this is any help!!!!

I'm administrator and I have already deleted some files from the subfolder but the folder just won't go. It does not say I do not have permission to delete, just that the file or folder does not exist!

Have you tried deleting it from the command prompt. RMDIR /? will give you help with the command

Have you tried deleting it after taking ownership? I have had that with some student folders - specifically the pictures sub folder.

MS recommend you try something like del "\\?\c:\path_to_file_that contains a trailing space.txt " : clicky - look at cause 6

Or how about using the commandline to operate on the shortname?
    eg:

    dir /x
Find the shortname of the file eg file~1
    ren file~1 short
    del short
