5th August 2010, 04:03 PM #1 SOLVED - How do we claim our SA technet plus calls
We have schools agreement which comes with Technet Plus. Under technet plus we are entitled, I believe, to 2 free support calls.
I have just tried to figure out how to claim them and I am getting the run around. They say we need an access id but I cant find it listed anywhere on mvls or technet.
Has anyone claimed their free calls under schools agreement and what steps were involved?
We desperately need to call MS about a cluster problem.
Cheers

5th August 2010, 04:10 PM #2 You need your Technet Subscription Number. Log into Technet, go to My Account and it's it's the subscription number there that you need.

5th August 2010, 04:17 PM #6 You need to go through the process to set up a support contract over the phone first, you'll then get a support contract number which is what they'll be after.

5th August 2010, 04:21 PM #8 Just did it through the UK support number, 0844 800 2400. It was about 18 months ago though, so knowing MS they've changed the process! If you're still having difficulty after that, try the online concierge chat, I've found them to be very good when I'm getting muppetry off the call centre.

5th August 2010, 04:26 PM #10 If you login to MVLS site and then goto Software Assurance->24/7 Problem... do you see any number or does it say no data?
Calling MS (first number) again to see what to do.

5th August 2010, 05:19 PM #12 Thanks again teejay, we have finally got it sorted.
For those who have Technet Plus, to activate and setup your access ID you must browse to Help and Support and follow the steps listed there to either email the form (word doc) or fax it along with your technet plus subscriber id (TSA....)
They will email you back with your access id which expires at the end of your agreement (aka you must renew this every year)
You then call 0844 800 2400 and they will arrange a call back.

Ah, didn't know about the must renew every year bit, which could explain why when I login I no longer see any calls available. I was under the impression it was because I had used my two up a few years back and we had no more, good to know we (hopefully) have two every year!
