    Wallpapers

Now I know this should be a simple one but for the life of me I cannot figure out why it is not working.

I have created a wallpaper which I am trying to push out using a GP. I have put it in a share on the server and put the address into the policy but nothing happens. So I moved the file to the root of C, changed the GP to match and still nothing all we get is a coloured background. Anyone fancy pointing out the obvious as to where I am going wrong. I know the policy is being applied because all the other effects are there such as no clock.

    Re: Wallpapers

I have tried bmp, jpg and gif all to no avail. Actually it worked once with a jpg but then never worked again.

    Have u tried BGInfo?

    link

Had similar problems with GP wallpapers that i never found out how to fix,
Advantage of BGInfo is that you can display info on the scren (eg IP Address, Username, PC name, etc..)

    Re: Wallpapers

It must either be a BMP or JPG.

Just a thought................don't you have to give the domain computers access to the share in the share permissions?

    Re: Wallpapers

I enabled active desktop using the same GPO and have made sure they have permissions to the folder and the file itself. This one is really bugging me because I am clearly missing something so obvious here.

Is another GPO over-riding it - what about one that sets the default desktop theme?
