PSR-E413 music keyboard and Musicsoft Downloader

Has anyone had any experience with these keyboards and the Musicsoft Downloader software?

Our music teacher is in the process of buying 11 PSR-E413 keyboards and is planning on using the USB cable to download the music to and from the keyboard via Musicsoft Downloader.

The problem comes when our users, either Students or Teachers try to download the music from the Keyboard to the Computer (moving the BUP file). We just get an error message saying the operation was cancelled. Now i know it works with our administrator account and if we make the Students and Teachers Domain Admins but this is something that i am not letting happen.

I have tried phoning Yamaha support to find out where the temporary file location is but they didnt seem to know.

Basically, my question is, where is the temparary file store where musicsoft downloader stores the BUP files? If i know this, then i might be able to open up this folder to the students and to the staff so they can at least save their pieces on the network. Also, would someone be able to explain how this process works? I can see that the software connects to the keyboard (it would be nice if the keyboard was like any other device where it would show up im my computer), use the Musicsoft Downloader to connect to the keyboard, find the BUP file, and move it to the temporary location which is where???? then once the file is in the temporary location, users can move this file.

    Thank You.

You could try using Process Monitor [Procmon.exe]

    Download link: Process Monitor

Run Procmon.exe to start capturing events and run your software until you encounter a problem. Stop capturing events in Procmon and look for [CTRL+F or 'Edit' and 'Find'] events which have been denied [keyword: denied]

This approach has several problems for me in the past.

    HTH.
